Models of Evolution
a CONTRA Innovative Training Network Workshop
Barcelona, June 3-7, 2019
Scope
This workshop is organized by the CONTRA (Computational ONcology TRaining Alliance) Innovative Training Network, a joint effort of KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden (coordinator), University of Warsaw, Poland, University of Cambridge, UK, King’s College London-Francis Crick Institute, UK, The Institute of Cancer Research, UK, Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB), Spain, University of Vigo, Spain, and ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
In the CONTRA Innovative Training Network, we are interested in studying the evolutionary processes of tumors. In this workshop we will focus on “Models of Evolution”, and we will discuss their conceptual and methodological bases. Experts with different viewpoints on cancer genomics will present their work in lectures.
Event Stucture: a Workshop in Three Parts
1,5 Days of Internal Network Workshop (June 3-4):
– The CONTRA Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) will have the opportunity to present their own project to the Network, and thus have feedback from other ESRs and CONTRA members.
– A CONTRA Journal Club: each ESR will present a paper related to their work for discussion with all participants.
1 Day of Practical Tutorials on Tumor Evolutionary Models (June 5):
Andrew Roth (University of Oxford) will be giving tutorials. More information later.
1 Day of Open Workshop: Lectures by Invited Speakers (June 6):
“Models of Evolution” Workshop of the ITN-CONTRA (Computational Oncology Training Alliance).
See List of Speakers.
Additionally, on June 7 a mid-term meeting will be held. For CONTRA members only.
